Bay Junction Technology, Inc. Launches iSpeed Wireless Digital Subscriber Loop Internet Access Solutions: New Service Extends the Company's Coverage Internet Access Using DSL Technology.

Wireless Service Now Available in Silicon Valley; Plans for Expansion in 1998

SAN JOSE, Calif. (September 16, 1998) Bay Junction Technology (BJT), the leader in IP network applications, announced today its new iSpeed wireless based Digital Subscriber Loop Internet service is now available. This comes in the wake of the companyıs already extensive commercial offering of access solutions. The introductory service is currently available in entire Silicon Valley, Menlo Park and parts of Fremont. Service to the rest of Fremont and the entire San Francisco Bay Area is anticipated by late October.

"With iSpeed, we are now able to expand our DSL-based services to areas that could not receive them before and we're very excited to be the first Internet Service Provider to interconnect with Wavepath to provide this service", said Benedict Tse, President of BJT. "We believe that our small to mid-sized business customers will benefit immediately, because now they can have cost -effective, dedicated and secure bandwidth needed for today's communications applications - and have it installed within 5-10 days instead of waiting weeks for traditional leased lines."

iSpeed is a new wireless digital service that is designed to allow businesses, telecommuters, remote offices, and consumers to connect to the Internet or to a company LAN at speeds up to twelve times faster than a 128 Kbps ISDN modem without the need for any phone line. Working in conjunction with Mountain View based Wavepath, Inc. to offer iSpeed, BJT utilizes the wireless network provided by Wavepath, which uses a secure high-quality and high-reliability wireless Multipoint Microwave Distribution System (MMDS) range of frequencies. This system provides for 35-mile line-of-site service that is not impacted by weather or interference associated with spread-spectrum and similar technologies. Also, because iSpeed does not require any phone lines, service can typically be installed within 10 business days.

BJT believes that DSL technology will dramatically change the price/performance equation for Internet services. Remote offices, telecommuters, small and mid-sized businesses, will be able to more easily and cost-effectively have leased-line type bandwidth through DSL technology.
